Sony Pictures Animation’s new animated musical adventure premieres worldwide on Netflix on August 6th. Honey bear Vivo and tween Gabi have a chance to get to Miami from Cuba to deliver a song in this story about gathering your courage and finding family in unlikely friends. Vivo is written and directed by Oscar-nominated Kirk DeMicco, with visual consultation by cinematographer Roger Deakins.

Key members of the artistic team flew to Havana to gather inspiration and meet with local musicians and dancers. A line used in the movie is: if you get lost, you go and find your own rhythm again. The movie mixes 2D elements with 3D animation, where some shots are made to look like 2D. The color palate explores the Caribbean, with the characters traveling through the fun-loving world of Key West to the sophisticated city of Miami. It looks like a colorful and fun ride.
