Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

The Mask - Finished

user added image

What do you guys think? On a big part of the mask, there was no noise so I had to go in and add that with Photoshop, I dont think you can tell at all.

Pretty cool man, I love the glowing shader. But is the spike on the top suppose to lift off the surface like that?

well you see, they arent off surface. The animal had a tranlucent skin. they or on that skin. Then there is a glowing thing inside the skin. Makes it look like its off.

really nice ultragames.. just one thing i would of tried to do.. make the yellow glowing ball thing a bit more.. less round. It just seems too default. Great job though user added image.

What exactly is the "animal" supposed to be? Also, how is the mask staying on the face?

Wow. you brought this post from the dead.

In your Matterial Atributes, open Special Effects.
In there is your glow intensity. That combined with color and stuff makes it glow. If you do hide source, it will become just a glowing peice of aim, instead of a glowing object.

The glow wont show up until after the render is COMPLETE. Then it will pop up.

Heres a little secret to my glow, and what makes it look so nice. I have an outer skin. The glow is forced to shine through this translucent outer skin, adding different tones to the glow, making it look SO much better.
