No "File" Appearing - MAYA 2012

When I'm in MAYA 2012, the "File" option at the top doesn't appear, so I can't start a new project! How do I make the "File" option at the top appear?

Try hitting Ctrl+m... it's possible the menus got turned off by accident. If that's not the case, can you post a screenshot?
