Newbie help - Customizing Pivot Points

Hello!

So I am brand new to Maya and I am having some issues with the manipulator/gizmo/pivot point thing. I want to move it to the origin of the world and not the center of the object. I can't seem to find any sort of manual way to enter in the values. I hope that makes sense...

Any help would be appreciated! I'm excited to jump into the community!

You can hold down x and d and MMB click on the origin, that's a simple way. Or I think you can go to the transform node in the attribute editor (e.g. pCube1), open up the Pivots section, and put 0,0,0 for the World Rotate Pivot and World Scale Pivot. There might be scenarios where the second method doesn't work, I'm not too sure.
