Move Problem

now a new prob arises.. i centered a pivot point on an object and now when i try to move it slightly it jumps around.. can i not have the pivot point selected so I can move my object??

I've noticed this, too. I think it's a Maya 6 bug. When it happens to me, I usually seperate the good half and duplicate it for the whole.
