Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Really confused about the RIGHT display adapters!!

Wow,
theres an array of display cards from agps to pcixs....

I currently have a geforce fx5600 & am thinking of upgrading.

Whats confusing is which card is really meant for a 3d application like maya?
I was thinking of some mid level pciX card from the nvidia fx series or the ati radeon series. But someone told me, those cards were for gamers. What I need it seems is a worksation card like
nvidia quadro or ati firel gl...BETTER still a wildcat card from 3dlabs.
Someone also suggested a PURECARD 1800 from artvps would be great for me as I wanna do photorealistic rendering in maya.

This is really getting confusing!!!

I have to make the right choice regarding my new pc, but I also cannot spend like a production company.I am a freelancer & want to have good but also affordable pc.

My budget for a display card would be say $400 to 450$ USD.
I hope now thats not too less!!

Please help me , really need to know the truth.
