I haven't got the T-rex tutorial. I have the spider tutorial, it's great, learned a lot from it.
I started with nurbs, then nurbs to polys and polys to sub-D.
It's now in polys and smoothed.
Yes, the simplymaya spider tutorial. Reference pictures are hard to find. I only got one blurry picture for the sideview, no frontview. But there are enough pictures to learn a bit about the anatomy of the raptor.

I,m now trying out a displacement map. First time i rendered it, it came out more like an elephant.
Does a displacement map work the same way as a bumpmap with that difference that you see it from whatever angle you view?
the demo of Zbrush doesn't let you import objects only rthe full version and the spider image planes can be found on the simply maya tutorial forum under a title like spider images
