Indeed, as I have always said. I have always been pleased to see that the view of America that I have know is being proved wrong by certain people on this board.

I guess we have all been subject to some form of propaganda of some sort.

As those of us who listen to the great Jello Biafra will know, changing the small things will make the big things seam easier to conquer.

Oh, before I forget, if there are any Americans there who have watched the Out Foxed movie can they please tell me if that is what it's really like. I find that soo shocking that I can't believe there is a situation like that.

Makes me proud to have people like the BBC and Channel 4 (oh and ITV user added image).

Just thought I would share this with you.

https://www.climatecrisis.net/

It's the website for the new film with Al Gore. When I was watching the trailer I couldn't help but think what would have happened if he had fought this hard to get the truth back in 2000 and what situation the world would be in because of it.

Detials of a new show tonight on the BBC about how the "Bush administration has covered up the findings of global warming scientists"

Some key quotes

"A US government whistleblower tells Panorama how scientific reports about global warming have been systematically changed and suppressed."

"For five or 10 years the public has not been fully informed. We were not taking the initial steps that need to be taken. If we continue down this path we're going to be past a point at which we can avoid really large climate changes. "

Jim Hansen
US climate scientist

"If they could suppress it they would. If they couldn't they would ignore it. If they could edit it they would edit it. "

Former government official

"I told the world I thought the Kyoto deal was a lousy deal for America. It meant that we had to cut emissions below 1990 levels which would have meant I would have presided over massive lay offs and economic destruction. "

President George W Bush

Be afraid people ..... be very afraid!

Well I can see that the prospect that Britain will turn Nuclear would worry, but have no fear. People like me are out trying to make our government listen to the will of the people (an age old problem).

Also in relation to the US, just because it has so far suffered the worse at the hands of global warming (hurricane Katrina) it is no way a guarantee that the problems will stay there. Every community in every country can tell you there own story.

P.S. Gotta love that falling Bush user added image

I have to disagree with people about this being an open site for all topic discussion. If you want to talk about things other than 3d find a site dedicated to it. I feel that this site should be used for the progression of 3d artists and the way in which we work. Politics should only be talked about if it is relevent to our field of work. I dont want this site to become a forum that slips into that kind of thing as it is easy to offend people and no matter how diplomatic you try to be, there will always be someone who disagrees. Lets keep the site for what it was meant for. Education and progression of our art.

Politics and religion are the barriers and mediums in which people who think they have answers to peoples problems work. I personally cannot stand either and do not want it creeping into this site.:angery:

I too feel that this site's main direction is the advancement of knowledge which is why I have created this thread to have all other views in one (rather small) contained space.

Politics is the necessary evil that we must use to try and improve our lives and religion is something completely different.

Very true, but I still believe that this site is not the place for it.
