Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Intro to demo reel pblast

Hey guys, does this look ok for the intro to my demo reel??? Its
4 mb and compressed with Indeo....
the image below is what it looks like rendered, and when my name comes in, the glow is extreamly high, and fades down when the sound fades down, after all of the text is gone, that was when I was going to start my demo. What do you think?? THanks,
Brian

Can't view it because I don't have the indeo codec in neither real player or wmp. Nice audio though. =p

EDIT: Nevermind...quicktime works. I like it. The animation and music match for the most part. The only thing I would rethink is maybe the part where your name comes in. Or maybe it looks better rendered. In QT, it just kind of pops open and gets smaller. A fade in would match the music pad better. It could just be quicktime though...the colors seems a bit washed out also in it compared to your screenshot which looks great.

Hmm... I watched it accidentally first without audio and I must say it looked a bit plain or ordinary. I know you can do better user added image No offence...

The idea is great and animation works great with the chosen audio. Just needs some polishing imho...

Thanks, I am really rushed on ideas right now, I need to get the entire demo done by this weekend, Most of it has been worked on the last 2.5 weeks! (wich is why I have't worked on my Monthly competition in a while. user added image I am really running out of ideas (and time) right now. I literally only spent about 10 min on the animation of the intro. Do you have any sugestions? I could really use them After this weekend, I will revamp the reel and make it alot better, just trying to get something done asap for someone. Thanks for all of your help,
Brian

How about some or all or a mixture of these ideas...

1. Some interesting shadows on the text which are casted from an unseen object.
2. Heavy backlight with fog which fades away
3. Make the text reflect something
4. Emit an energy field from the text...

Dunno... I'm kind of out of ideas too user added image

well guys, thanks for all of your sugestions! I have made a few changes and I have changed the color of the text, and I have animated the camera, Its rendering as we speak, and it should be done by tomorrow morning. (I hope) Using GI_Joe, and Motion Blur, DOR and Animated Shaders/glows, can make even the most basic scene take forever to render. lol Thanks,
Brian Ellebracht

BTW I will post the new one tomorrow.!

I am going to try to. It depends on how long it takes to render, It will be in the Demo That I plan on having done by the end of March, But I don't know if I have the rendering time for it to be done on this demo reel, that needs to be done by early next week. THanks,
Brian

Here is an update (with a playblast of my first camera shot afterwards) I know that the text goes in after it is there for a while, but that is just to make sure that I am in the "safe frame" So that I know everybody will see all of the text when it is on TV. Thanks,
Brian
