Another update..

What do you guys think about the leg support? .. I am thinking of opening his skin, showing the bones inside and making shreds of flesh at the leg with the support.. any comments on that ?

Nice idea. If you wanted some ideas on how specifically lower leg external fixators look and attach to bone etc in real life you could have a look at (warning, some photos of actual ops in progress);

which has a specific guide to fitting their particular product with some decent shots of the construction. Might assist with the general look if you break the leg down to it's various layered components.

Very interesting figure and really well modelled. Look forward to seeing more.

Tonights first update,

@Witchy : I looked at the site and stole some ideas from there. The stuff there has some really interesting shapes, so I borrowed a bit of it.. Thanks alot. user added image

Tonights updates will probarbly be minor adjustments, casue I have alot of those to do.. now lets see how far I get tonight.

I changed the chest and the cheeks is modified - now the blend between teh cheeks and the thigh is more subtle..

I also added those "spears" in his chest with the eyes for hooks. These are going to be used for the robes that is gonna be attached to the stone he is going to pull..

essahc: Here is the wire screenshot. I am using CPS to model, becasue I am not quite familiar with SubDiv's yet. So its a normal Polygonal model.

I guess I needed a little color.. Anyway, all shaders are temporary.

I dont think I am gonna put more details on the model, so now its world modeling and textures I need.

another update.. minor suff done, like modifying/creating the collarbone and moved the ring above his knee instead of around the ankle.

I have started to paint textures. I want a really decomposed, dirty, beaten and rough look. So far I am painting the color layer, so no specular and bump layer yet.

I am painting using Mayas 3D paint - no photoshop stuff here... yet !.. Its actually the first time I have painted textures in Maya only, its quite fun...
