Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Matrix ground ripple

I found out how to do this (tanx Iz) in the effects forum. It sounded soo neato that i had to at least try it to see if it worked, and to my surprise its QUITE simple to do. Then i decided that i would like to see how i could do the effect for myself with a little Chroma Key (blue or green screen) Actor, and a completely CG enviroment. I'm gonna do this over a while as i have no use for the project ATM. Maybe something for the demo reel that doesn't quite exist yet. Anyway thought you guys might like to see.

First of all thanx for noticing rage! Um the walls are QUITE distorted you can see this even looking at the still image i posted. They just happen to be vertical so there is only 2d distortion. I'm thinking this will be used in the next movie that me and eli will make. I plan on having a much larger roll in the entire production proccess this time, and oncve i figure out where this effect will take place i will begin to create a photoreal enviroment.

The next movie will be an effects nightmare, for we want to do some spectaular stuff. I plan on assembling a team as soon as we start preproduction. Don't worry, i'd not forgotten about this thread.

That would look awesome if it started flat, then something dropped into it and then it did a massive ripple. Kind of like in Final Fantasy where you see them from underneath and each footstep creates a ripple effect on the earth.

I hate to take your thread man, but I just tried this myself........
I like the result, its just that I dont want the outside of the floor to move up and down. when I turn the dropoff to 1, the outside does not move, but the middle moves up and down. I want the Inside and outside of the ripple to stay stationary, Is this possible???
