no Maya 6

This was in the body
-----------------------------------------------------------

But now the good news:

I became an official ALIAS-Beta-Tester! user added image

This means I'll receive a copy of MAYA 6.0 Beta very soon and those nice people at ALIAS told me:
'There will be a lot of hot/cool/useful and new stuff within ALIAS MAYA 6!"
So for your advantage I will check/explore and explain those new features in MAYA 6 concerning Mental-Ray-Rendering and
using default mr-shaderes within Maya!

This means the DVD you'll get is not outdated when MAYA 6 hits the market!

I am currently in close contact to the ALIAS-Beta-Team and the Mental Ray product manager and maybe I could tell you exclusive
about some new 'maya/mental-ray-translator' features even if MAYA 6.0 won't be out at that time!

So this MAYA-Beta-Tester-Case makes the DVD more and more complex and up to date!

Maybe, not talking about 4.5 but with 5.0 I'v found MentalRay more stable.. Mayas software render seems to have a memory leak for me.. get off 2 renders and I get ram flags all over the place.. But not with the MentalRay part. But thin I haven't rendered a lot with MR.

Yeah, with the speed at which they're turning out upgrades, are they going to be free or do we have to drop an extra $400 every time they fix something?
