Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Hello out there, or is it hello in here?

I decided that I needed a break from modelling the bar interior so I've made a start on another robot, sorry Tim it's not the DJ! Here he is then, the bar tender, I thought he would be pretty appropriate as he makes gallons of whiskey in 'The Forbidden Planet'.

Making him got me to thinking that I could make other robots recognisable, maybe Maximillian, from the black hole, as a bouncer for instance. Any ideas would be cool,

Cheers,

Mat.

Ha ha. Excellent stuff mat! :attn:

Hmmm....How about Marvin the Paranoid Android. I haven't seen the film, but I thought the robot looked pretty cool. And you could also throw in some Daleks huddled in a corner looking suspicious, though I guess daleks aren't strictly robots.

er.. Twiky from Buck Rogers? And you could also throw in Asimo as well. Good work Mat. This project just keeps getting better and better. user added image

Ha!! Excellent ideas there arran. Perhaps both incarnations of Marvin, we'll see. Suspicious daleks too brilliant!!

Magicsy, everyone who replies to this link is helping me by giving moral support, feedback, and ideas. At the moment I don't need any help with models, probably because I've given myself no time constraints, but if there comes a point where I do need some assistance I will definately throw out a line.

Cheers,

Mat.

Both versions of Marvin would be cool. You DEFINITELY have to include Awesome-O! That would be excellent.

And how about a couple of Transformers? ROBOTS IN DISGUISE!!!

Thanks everyone.

All excellent ideas, I rekon I've got my work cut out but I will do my best to include as many of your suggestions as I can. Progress is likely to be slow but hey, I'm in no rush.

Tim, I think robby is more likely to stay on his side of the bar, possibly trying to polish a glass but not being able to as his arms are too short.

Cheers all,

Mat.

Cheers magicsy, he's excellent,!! I've not been able to use Maya for the past couple of days, real life stuff that gets in the way of hobby stuff (bah!), so there is no progress to report. hopefully by the weekend I'll have something to show.

Cheers,

Mat.
