Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

UV Sets - not seeing the images

Why can't I see the images of the textures when my UVSet is not map1 (the default which is undeleteable)

As you can see - all the settings were taken care of but still I can't see the textures (2 which are connected to the UIVSets in the relationship editor.

Thanks

I have had this problem many times. Usually, it's just a glitch. Sometimes you can fix it by restarting Maya. Sometimes, your computer's memory can be filled with corupt files and this may cause this problem. You fix this by turning your computer ALL THE WAY off. No restarting - you have to cold boot. After that, you simply turn it back on.

Another possibility is that you selected all the faces and applied the texture by right-clicking on the shader in hypershade and choosing "assign to selection." If you do this, Maya will still think lambert1 is assigned to it dispite the real texture on your object. To solve this, you just need to reassign your texture to your object without selecting faces. (just select your object.)

Hope this helps.

I will try this - it looks to me that the second option is the reason because I tried it in several occasions

heheh. He's talking about how both our avatar faces are half distorted and half normal. One half of my face has the colors inverted, while one half of nirsul's face is done in wireframe.

Nice catch there nirsul. I never would have noticed. lol
