ok, whenever i close the hypershade, maya crashes, do you know why???? i neeeeeeeeddddd heeeeeeelllp!!!!!!!!!

that's not good!!

i can't really think of anything except that maybe you have some corrupt program files.
If no one else suggests something less drastic...go ahead and uninstall maya...remove the old program folder so u don't have any remnants...and then reinstall.

might be a video card driver problem. I've seen something like that before. Try searching for Maya Crash Driver in yahoo or google or in this forum.
