Curve placed on Primitive

Hi

I have a curve (which was made in Illustrator) and a torus. How do I get the curve to be placed on the side of the Torus, and extrude it a bit, so I get a kind of an emboss effect. How do I do that?

Is this a bump map thing? The goal of this is to make 20 curves distributed in a circle and project them on top of a torus (like the clock with the ornaments).

Thank You
Ferran

I don't think projecting curves onto poly surfaces is possible, nurbs yeah, polys nope. I'd just create geo from that curve, use a bend deformer and make sure it hugs the torus then dupe it along a motion path(I think thats called creating an animation snapshot) that follows the the shape of the torus, in this case a simple nurbs curve would do.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try with the bend deformer and the animation snapshot.

Thanks
