render maya to avi movie

trying to render a small animation into avi movie.......the animation plays in maya 7 but only captures one frame when rendered ( AVI file )

yes but his question was about rendering avi movie, and seeing the 'how do i render a movie' doesn't match that query word for word and so it probably confused playbox and so he didn't think to check that thread out
