IK handlers won't do, need help...

What i want:

Initial state:
user added image

End state:
user added image

In this image, i want what i cricled in red to keep in the middle during the entire animation, and what is circled in blue to meet at the middle at the end.

Tried with IK handlers but wouldn't do it, specially the blue part.

Thank you for any help!

Not sure if it will work but you could constrain the "red" joint to a locator and lock the translate x and z of the locator making it only available for movement in y

bluemana, i can see why IK wont work, so you could use set driven keys or link the rotations of the blue and black joints to expressions

I don't think i missed the point try this one blue mana

When you bind this to the mesh you can exclude the joints you don't want deforming your mesh
