Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Biomechanical organism creature that I am currently working on, please take a look!

Hey guys, My name is Jayson and I am 19 years old. I currently attend Fullsail which is a school that is just outside of here in florida. I am a rookie to this industry but I'm giving it a day at a time. This is the second character model that I have ever done and its my current work on progress. My first character ever sucked, not only because I was trying to model it like a real human and restrained my creativity and because I was also learning.

The part just beyond his head is going to be the neck part of this robotic armor that he will have. I am going for high res modeling without the need of extra isoparms etc. I hope you guys like his teeth and the detail i given the model on the neck area etc. I am going to character rigging class next month and I hope I enjoy character set up and come out with some of my own. By the way the shark was just something i did after my first model. I did it after looking at bruce from finding nemo.

p.s the pictures suck, sorry.

Hey welcome to SM man! I will promise you that you will this place to be one of the most helpful and friendly Maya community ever put on the net! I would like to say I really like your head character guy. Ive always liked the crazy alien kind. I wish I have the expense of modeling high poly stuff like you. My computer would die! hehe. The shark one is coo too. Im just wondering, did you do these on nurbs or just polys? Anyway, great job man!

lmao @ icarus...man you always catch that moment of commenting...got me laughin @ urbandictionary...nemoish...lol

its nurbs, I can picture my detail model going up to 120,000 poly's if it were to be poly's. I hate patch modeling so I don't know if im going to patch it. I might make another character so i can set it up.

Welcome to SM.

Both the shark and the biomech looks really nice. Would be nice if you posted wireframes.
