how to model: chandelier section
hey guys. need some input. i have started to model a chandelier that is in my dining room and am wondering what you guys think would be the best way to model this section of a chandelier?
attached is a close-up shot of the actual chandelier (no that's not my modeling skills)

i would say 2 nurbs for each curve thing one. bend it and make the end smaller - e.g. with an animated circle that gets smaller while going to the end (then snapshot and loft). done
but of course there is at least 100 other ways of doing it

ain't that the truth.
One of the other 100 ways to do it would be to take a nurbs sphere and use a few different deformers on it. If you know how to use them well, you can make fast work of this.

Yea. I really could think of several ways to do that. Not all of them involve nurbs, but for a shape like that they are the best way to go.

OK, I'll get started on it and see what I come up with. Thanks for the input.
