i meant.. you dont generally see such a defined shadow in real lif. you might want to soften it up...

that ain't the shadow... that's the reflection... so nothing wrong there

I like the ball better for getting the hang of optimising renders better..
Though maybe a squar in there also to add something better to test difrent aspects though. A difrent color also.

although the reflection is good.. it would be nice to be able to make the reflection blur some.

maybe closer in on the subject a bit would be cool also.
