Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Mac to PC (windows)?

Hi,

I have a mac G4, and I'm going to get a PC. I was woundering what do I do about maya being only for mac? I'm not going to spend another $2,000 on maya. Is there a way I can take maya 4.5 complete for mac back and get the pc version?

Any input on this would be great!

P.S.
Oh and the reason I'm getting a pc is because I want to upgrad to a more powerful computer, it take way to long to render on my mac which is a Dual 867 MHz. And that new Power mac G5 is $3,000 big ones! The pc I'm getting, which is $1,500, has 2.8GHz, do you guys think that would make any differents when it come to rendering?

I just called alias, and to get the pc verson I will have to buy a new maya program, which will cost $1,000! And that mean taking back my mac version and trading it for the pc version + $1,000!

dannyngan,

$150? For me it's going to be $1,000! Hum...

I have (maya complete 4.5)

I wonder if a mac registration is the same as a PC.

Licensing is pretty much the same for Mac and Windows versions of Maya. The software is nodelocked to a specific hardware ID, so you can't simply reinstall on another machine. You need to go through Alias to get a new authorization code.
