Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

remove maya 8`s primative building change

come on you know you hate
if i wanted this option i would have stayied with max
hoping this is right part of forum

had afew private messages about this so here is the fix

1) right first find the "maya 8" folder under "my docs"

2) open the folder "prefs" then open the file userPrefs.mel with word pad.

3) find the lines

-iv "createNurbsPrimitiveAsTool" 1
-iv "createPolyPrimitiveAsTool" 1

and change the 1 at the end to a 0

save file restart maya

no more clicking and dragging the primatives.
hope that helps.

i hate to tell you, there is a much easier way, that works just as good!

create>Nurbs Primitives and near the bottom is an option that says "Interactive creation", just tick that off by clicking it..

for polygons it is very similar.....

Your right tho. If I wanted to geometry that way I would have used Max...

I hated this change, at least I can go back to the "real way".

Now you have to wonder about this Max feature appearing in Maya 8. Does this point the way to its demise???
