Most definitely not when you start looking for jobs and the local market says "hey you! USE MAYA"Originally posted by GecT
Going great so far man, and you know you couldn't stay away from Maya <3
I haven't seen much recently no. but that is just a TINY piece of the whole system too. Just adding constraints and cleaning up my outliner is taking one hell of a long time and I'm not even done the modeling yet.Originally posted by NeoStrider
you don't see a lot of models with working hydraulic piston apparati lately, now do you?
nice job!
Make a curve, and a nurbs circle. Then extrude the circle along the curve.Originally posted by ColdWave
1 question how u make the wires ? just make curve and shape it to fit in the whole and then extrude or what ?
Unfortunately the wires are what make up a lot of the density of the joints and limbs. All I did was close up from different points on it so you can see things. Fortunately a lot of the bulk does not need any detail which is making things a lot easier. But still, the concept is to have a BUNCH of wires which tedious at times, looks pretty damn cool. Too bad I haven't been at the computer too much to work on anything, let alone this awesome project.Originally posted by NeoStrider
with all the wires you're modeling, how many of them will be visible in renders? some of those shots look like they're looking inside the model where nothing will actually show up - i only bring it up cause lots of modelers nowadays tend to still model stuff that will never be seen (like modeling the whole body and then modeling clothes to go over them without cloth simulation), and it's kind of a waste of time...
