caching image sequence

Hi there,

I've got a texture that uses an image sequence, how would I ago about chaching it so the playback is fluent?
I've set the node status of both my material and my file node to cache but the playback is still jerky, which is annoying as I have to animate to the sequence.
I don't think it's the computers spec either it's a quad core with a 512mb graphics card.

the texture reslution is 600x700

any ideas would be great
cheers

playblast user added image, drop down the settings to realllll low on the matterial for hardware texturing as well. May be a better solution, ill look into it. Mayas viewport rendering is outdated but updated in 2009 (really so much better, by miles).
