Rotation Channel Keyframes Not Changing Type

I created a Quick HumanIK Rig for a mesh I ported to Maya and after animating for a bit I noticed that the rotation channels on certain bones weren't applying when I sett them to stepped, for instance, the transform channels on the Hip were being set to stepped, while the rotation remained as spline keyframes. Anybody have any idea why this is happening?
