Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Viewport playback speed

Hi there, I'm new to maya, obviously, and have just started messing around with animation.
As far as i can tell from the documentation, options and settings etc and the tutorial, the viewport playback is based on the speed of your computer? and you can't limit it to the frame rate, you have to actually playblast or render it to view it at the right frame-rate?

Is this right? Because my view port playback is about 3 times too fast.
how useless is that, if you can't limit it to the frame rate!!!
argh frustrating.
anyone know?

thanks ,
Adam.

You can change the frame rate. Go to Window > Settings/Preferences > Preferences. Click Settings. Set your desired frame rate from the Time dropdown menu. You'll also need to check your Timeline preferences to make sure playback speed is set to Real-Time.
