Is mental ray not registering with Maya or did it completely disappear from the hard drive?

go the windows/preferences/plugin manager

look for your mental ray plugin.., it will be abbreviated and i dont remember what the abbreviation is.., but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out

mental ray.., and you lost it.., the maya renderer is easier and the results are better if you dont know what you are doing in mental ray

take it easy and life will be easy
