Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

...but now the saddle-cloth a bit too yellow; I intend to push it back towards red/orange.

Being 2am and half brain dead I can't really give any crits except to say that you're texturing is looking pretty good. I'm really enjoying seeing everyone's creativity. Seems like your having a tough time figuring out the right colors though. I'm sure you'll get it just right in the end. Good work so far.

Been a while since I posted some progress...

Between moving out of my dorm, settling into my new temporary home, and getting ready for Spain...and admittedly getting a bit too sucked into F.E.A.R....:p

Saddle is indeed black; still deciding what to do with it.

it'd be cool to see abit more muscle definition and to see some transition between the body and the rocky parts

Forgive me for being daft and stuck in 1872, but what on earth is that? The epilepsy stuff.

Really nice progress on the texturing here Severini. It's coming along it's coming along. Main body still feels a little saturated or not enough colour/saturation variations. imho that is.

Aye, the "horsilepsy" you see is a normal map...kinda scarry, don't you think?

I will indeed have to spend some time, sitting, doing nothing but staring at Patches and the textures and see if I can figure something out...

...'cause I'm going to freekin' Spain tomorrow...! Ryaaaaaaaah! :attn:

Is the glow bad? It's at 0.2.

I LOVE BUMP MAPS!

*Insert maniacal laughter here*

That orange eye isn't doing it for me, though...I'll most likely bring down the glow (or remove it completely), and shift the color of it towards yellow.

Whoopsies; bad Anthony...someone applied bumps to the lava, and it wasn't looking good...here's the fix.

I'll get to the eyes in a sec >_<

First off, thanks for the model; it is one thing to create something yourself, UV it, texture it, etc...but it definitely teaches someone (me :p ) just how much I did (and didn't) know about UVing by picking up something that I didn't model to UV.

Second...how many times did you have to post before I finally got what you were trying to tell me about adjusting the UV's to gently warp the appearance of the saddlecloth? Three or four, me thinks...user added image

Ah well, I eventually got it; thanks again for that, it's definitely a clever trick.

And of course comments, crits, pointers and directional advice along the way.

It came out really great. Strong concept, and most importantly I think we all have learned a ton this challenge.
Thank you a lot for your support and crits as well.

Have fun throughout Europe now and may it be educating. Approach everything you see with an absorbing, observing and open mind. What an art class, I'm envious now :p

PS:
It's healthy to blame your alter ego to apply the wrong bumpmap when you sleep.
