This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

alpha channel maps?

Ok I hope i'm doing this right. This is my first question to be posted on simply maya. Ok I'm switching from Max to maya and was hoping if someone could just possibly help me w/ this simple simple problem. How do i make a box??.. just kidding.. Basically i have this map w/ an alpha channel (a .tga file) and i'm assigning it to a regular polygonal plane. In my viewport.. the texture looks right, and you only see the material but not the plane's edges. When i go ahead to render it seems as if the alpha channel of the material ceased to exist. Im know i'm missing something really small.. can anyone please help me out.
