Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

if you read my first comment, you would see its supposed to have no arms, as ive hidden them for simplicity whilst animating.

When all my animation is complete, i can then go back and animate the arms according to his movements...i.e swinging motion, and follow through and getting my arcs right etc.

Then il show them and batch render time!

thanx for the tip tho! lol

NO arms, its soccer, need no arms. If you went with the hacky sack though arms could be useful.

hey marlon john thanx. Glad im getting good feedback.

I hid the arms so its easy to animate the rest of the character with no distractions. Then il make the arms visible and animate them accordingly (not looking forward to that part!!).

The character rig came with an option to hide/unhide the arms/ legs etc. nice!

Im in the process of clearing my hardrive as ive been having playblast errors due to how big my animation is coming along.

Il post an update on youtube lata and inform you guys for feedback.

THANX GUYS!

I like it at the end when he messes up, makes it look a bit more realistic.

How long have you been animating? this is really good, i wish i could crit but im a noob, but im sure you know what needs improving.

Keep it up! and keep posting.

hey draw3d, thanx.

I cant take credit for the character itself. I downloaded it from highend3d.com. The character is called Moom v somethin... in the Maya character rigs section.

I just upgraded my pc to a quad core with 3 gb ram, and a nice 1gb graphics card, si hopefully my workflow will be a bit quicker.##Il keep you guys updated.

Thanx again and keep the comments coming

I'm liking the animation part, the only thing i'm liking a lot less is that you (and many other people, so it isn't anything personal) have downloaded the model +rig, would'nt it be more satisfying if you made it all yourself?(retorical question btw)
as for suggestions for an environment in which to place the little critter......... a soccerfield with real grass, just.......make it yourself mr. pix you can do it LOL :p

Thanx mastone for your comment, but as i have said before, the reason i dont model, isn't because im lazy (thats part of it i guess), not just because im poor at modelling,...its because I am a self taught animator, and need EVERY single second i have practising animation.

Whilst i appreciate your comment, I also believe everyone needs to devote themselves one subject. Sure, if this was a hobby, and i had the time i would model, rig, animate, etc. But my point is, i am trying to build a portfolio in 'Character animation', and see no point wasting time in subjects Im not gonna apply jobs with.

I dont know the industry, but Im pretty sure, you dont get pro's at pixar, dreamworks, etc. modelling, animating etc.

Thanx though, i appreciate it, and god bless people who upload content for rookies like me to practise with

Oh, as for the environment, i dont have a problem with modelling that, but characters (which also need to be rigged) are a hell of alot harder and more time consuming.

Environments are more satisfying and personally find it easier depending on the simplicity of course.

The reason I dont wanna go for the typcial grass idea, as its such a cliche'. I would like something original.

Thanx

hey arran,

thanx dude.

ive just done an update. Check it out, to see what you think,

Ive started adding animation to the feet, so it dont look so stiff, (got loads to do on the feet alone yet!)

I had to do a low quality batch render as im having problems with my playblasts
