Wierd UI glitch (menu bar)

I was doing at tutorial on modding the UI, and evidently I hit something wrong and somehow turned off the File menu bar.

I'm completely new to Maya and am just starting a digital animation class with Maya 8, so I have no idea if this is a program error of if i just tweaked a tab i wasn't supposed to tweak. Please Help.
