This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

making the pixar lamp

i was wonderin how easy it was to make a lamp like the pixar one in maya??

i have made the lamp and am just about to animate it, but i want to animate it with a skeleton so that the actions are realistik.

are there any guides to this??

probably not, but I suggest using hierarchy and parent the parts of the lamp to the joints instead of binding to the skeleton because it would be messy with the skin weights. Hope to see it soon! Careful with copyright infringement.

is there anywhere i could get information on the hierarchy?

the maya model just has to look like the pixar one, not exactly copy it

i woud like to know hwo to piece them together in this way (so they act like an actual lamp)
