This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
Hey so im trying to cope with lights here. i have a few little spotlights lighting up computers because i dont know how to do that glow to glow a light.... so i have to have spotlights aimed at them.. anyways. so im trying to add more lights like spotlights and point lights, and they just arent lighting. ANYTHING. its really starting to get frustrating. and yes, i have my lights on, not default scene lighting. its all dark except for where my spotlights on my computer screens are, even though i have a point light in the middle of the room... and its intensity isnt changing anything
yes i tried all those settings.. still no light. I have "show all lights on" and i dont see it.. but if I select it and go "show selected", i see the light fine.. but it doesnt show when I have all lights on.
Ummm do you mean the lights are not on when you render?? If its a big scene you may not see the lights..I have done this before...if not post your .ma file and I will have a look

"A Darkness at Sethanon", a book I aspire to model some of the charcters and scenes
pyathus I think you need to learn some of the basics, maya comes with some usefull little tutorial and there is the maya help file. Also there are free tutorials on this site for some lighting setups................dave
well ive modeled with Lightwave for many years so im not new to the modeling process and layout, but maya is a bit different with things so some things i need some help with dave. and ive looked at the lighting set ups, but nothing shows what is happening with mine. My light simply is not lighting in the render. its dark
I to came from lightwave so I do understand, maya is not as logical as lightwave in its setup or how it works some times. I would upload your scene so Genny could have a look she is one of the best on this site for lighting problem...........dave
