This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Cool concept. This piece has great potential. How did you get that reflection on the spheres? =]

Nice, but if you're going to put that much effort into the lighting, I think you should up the tessalation on the geometry to make it look smoother. You can see the edges on the spheres and the cylinders.

Tesselation

Well...in Attribute Box on the right, select the object and under Tesselation select first ->Show rendering tesselation...Maya shows you now, how the object is going to be tesselated during rendering. Increase from Medium to high...and if needed the numbers from 1.5 to something like 4...depends on the object...ATTENTION: increases rendertimes....

Actually, in the channel box, select the polyShape node. Then, when the menu opens, just up the U and V SPANS. U can get decent results somewhere around 30-40. It only goes to 50 so if it's a small scene, go all the way.
