This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Poly to Subdiv problem

Hi,
I did the VTM on the 'Simple Man a couple of weeks ago, and everything went OK... (In fact so good that Man turned into Woman user added image ) But I had a Virus prob and had to restart all over.......... user added image
Strange thing is.. even at the first part of tutorial, i get wierd "sausage shapes" when I extrude the faces of body...?

I have re-set a few tolls but dunno why this is happening?

Can someone please help a noob...?

make sure you "keep face together" its in the extrude optionsuser added image

DOH ! Told u i was noob...lol ..... I couldn't find it... is it the one under "Poly's" - "Keep faces together" ????

well, you can bother as much as you want. kevin infact did hand out wrong information as "keep faces together" is not an option in extrude, but in polygons->tool options->keep faces together. it not only works for extrude, but also for duplicate, seperate face, or extract and others
