This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Amazing, very nice work!

Do you mind to explain how to do the handle texture?

Did you put up a white sphere around the sword for it to cast reflection or just a flat box on the side?

blitzmaya: Thanks for the compliment. The texture for the handle is a leather texture. I modified the attributes for it and plugged it into the displacement channel of a blinn. Pretty easy stuff, but takes a bit to render at the resolutions I posted to show a little detail. The last pic I posted was from a 2066 x 906 render.

I used "Image based lighting" for the light and a HDRI map.
