Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

shiny texture

how do i make the shiny textures i see everywhere on cars, saxophones, etc? i'm making a sax, and need a shiny shader that i can change colors (for silver, nickel, black, gold, etc).

use a blinn or a phong shader. to get reflections in the shader, make sure you turn on raytracing in render globals (render options).
