My First Model

This is my first model in maya. Its not much but for first job i think its not that bad. Needs better textures and bump maps. Im not that good at UV texturing so most of it its just colour ramps.

The reason I post it here is I would love to hear some critics and hints. So......

Hey, looks good!

I think it's a wise thing that you didn't go into too much detail just yet. The first model I ever made (or rather tried to make) was a fully detailed TIE-fighter from Star Wars... and that was way out of my league - and still is!

Try not to get overenthusiastic with reflectivity and shininess - it tends to look a bit "noobish" imho - although that's probably okay as this is your first model user added image.

Keep it up! I'm still struggling with the basics myself user added image.
