Increasing Polygon Count.

Probably one of the easiest questions you guys get to answer today! user added image

I have created a box using the cube tool but I cant see how to increase the polygons so that I have more controll over the object (possibly working on small areas of the box). I cant find it on google, but tahts probably due to what im searching.

Thanks in advance!

andy.

mesh>smooth is one way to do it.

Insert edge loop is another that gives you more control and will not change the original corner edges.

You can change the subdivisions in the input section of the channel box, that will also give you more polygons, but make sure to change these creation settings before you move any of the vertices or do anything to the box.

Probably the best thing at this point would be to go over some of the basic maya tutorials in the documentation.
