Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I just saw that over at CG Talk also. I was going to post it our members lounge section, but this thread seems alot more appropriate. I wish I had that guys rigging and compositing skills.

Just a quick question that might aid the guys in the challenge.

What format would you like the animation to be in, codecs, resolution, size ect, just so there are not any probs at the receiving end.

Cheers

just try to use something that people should be able to play, and if possible, provide links to the codecs or whatever you are using.

Hi Mike, quick question. Are your challenge forum competitions strictly judged on modeling? You say in the rules that texturing and animation are not required, but it seems like that would be a big factor. I mean, modeling is the easy part, texturing, rigging, animation, and rendering out the whole movie is what takes the time and effort. Just wanted to get an idea, becuase I'm starting to think that I wasted countless hours making/rendering a 16 second movie (400 frames), which I could have spent on making an elaborate, single frame render, model.

presentation is definitely a factor. but I wouldn't worry too terribly. For example, Masteryoda's untextured entry is definitely a strong piece.

Hope everyone managed to get done on time.

The winners will hopefully be announced by the end of the week.

The next challenge will also hopefully be detailed by tomorrow.

Thanks to all participants!
